Recently, China has released a 12-point peace plan on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, calling for a ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow. After being announced by China’s senior diplomat WANG Yi at the Munich Security Conference 2023, this peace initiative has been at the centre of discussion, among others, including political analysts, commentators, and academic scholars.
